The LCS Difference

The LCS Difference - Lafayette Christian School

What sets us apart?

Lafayette Christian School is focused on ACADEMIC RIGOR, BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS and TEACHING WHAT’S RELEVANT. Though not affiliated with any one church or Christian denomination, the board-governed school is non-compromising in Christian standards.

Lafayette Christian School has prepared students for acceptance, numerous scholarships, and successful performance at the United States Naval Academy, Georgia Tech, University of Georgia, University of Alabama, and Auburn. Our Honors Track students were able to choose from over 20 Honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and College Classes. They may earn up to 30 college semester hours while attending Lafayette Christian School.

In addition to our Honors Track, Lafayette Christian School has a College Prep Track and a General Track.  General track students may not be college-bound, but they enjoy the same benefits, teacher-student relationships, and activities as the rest of the student body.  We provide tutoring and supplemental services in our Discovery Center.  Furthermore, students with special needs may be enrolled in the Discovery Cottage.

Our quality academic program’s foundation is our teachers. All teachers from Kindergarten through high school are degreed and certified. They have an average of fifteen years of teaching experience. Teachers are involved in continuing education. Over 60% of our upper school teachers have earned Master’s degrees or greater. The average student to teacher ratio is 11:1.

Lafayette is not just a school; but a place where friendships are made, and teachers are looked upon as true mentors.

The LCS Difference - Lafayette Christian School

Lafayette Christian School is large enough (over 600 students) to offer numerous athletic, social, and fine arts opportunities, but small enough for students to build close, caring relationships with fellow students, teachers, and their families.  Students participate in art, drama, chorus, pep band, chess, STEM club. Fine arts competitions are held on the local and state level.  Educational fun is at its peak with the numerous curriculum-driven field trips for each grade level.  Multi-day overnight trips include: the Atlanta Zoo (2nd grade), Marine Biology studies in Savannah (5th grade), the Tour of Georgia (8th grade); ecology, stream and forest studies, and whitewater rafting in North Georgia (9th /10th grade); and a trip to New York City (12th grade). Social events include a the Middle School Bash, winter formals, field days, prom, Homecoming, and more.

In addition to our regular elementary academic classes, students are provided weekly enrichment in the areas of art, music, and physical education.

The spiritual growth of our students is of primary importance. God is in our curriculum and His truth pervades all subjects. Students are provided with a wide variety of opportunities to learn and apply biblical truth to their lives. From regular classroom instruction to planned chapel activities, student interactions and service projects, students have an opportunity to grow in their faith and develop servant-leadership that reaches out to others.

We are committed to train up our children and give them a godly legacy to pass on to their children and their children’s children. This is accomplished by dedicated parents working with dedicated teachers and coaches.

Recently, Lafayette Christian School has won State Championships in football, basketball, soccer, cross country, and archery.  Other athletic opportunities include cheerleading, volleyball, and baseball.  Rich relationships are built as students practice and compete on the ball fields and courts.
