Our History
From our founding in 2004 to today, see how God has shaped and grown LCS into a flourishing community of learning, faith, and excellence.
Lafayette Christian School was founded in 2004 and named after the Marquis de Lafayette—a French nobleman and patriot who gave up a life of wealth and prestige to support the American colonies during the Revolutionary War. Concerned parents and citizens in Troup County saw the need for a quality, board‑governed, independent Christian school. Their vision was to establish a place where students could grow academically, athletically, artistically, and spiritually.
From a graduating class of just two in 2004, LCS has grown to serve more than 700 students today. Over the years, the school has expanded its curriculum to include Honors, AP, and College courses. Our graduates have gone on to study at institutions such as Auburn, Georgia Tech, the University of Georgia, the University of Alabama, Liberty, Baylor, and the United States Naval Academy.
The Early Learning Center was the first in the state of Georgia to obtain national accreditation through NAC. We have also launched the Collaborative Campus, Discovery Cottage, and inclusive athletic facilities that serve both our students and the broader community.
Through it all, Lafayette has remained faithful to its mission: to educate and inspire this generation to impact the culture and future for Christ. Stability of leadership and faculty, academic achievement, and a strong Christian foundation continue to mark the LCS story.
